dr brian may of queen just finally finished his phd in, i believe, astrophysics. he worked on it from 71-74 at imperial college, but just submitted a completed dissertation to exeter. he donned cap n gown with yusuf islam, who was awarded the honorary doctorate of doctor of laws. (y'know, cat stevens)

he also had the honor of being present while the newest, largest telescope was turned on in the canary islands. he can add this to his list of accomplishments, such as the songs "we will rock you" and "fat bottom girls."
